Sitara Achakzai was a vivacious and intelligent woman, one of only four female members of the Kandahar Provincial Council. Although she worked hard to improve the lot of her constituents, as a member of the Afghan Government she was a target, and was gunned her down one afternoon in April of 2009. This multimedia feature about her life and death offers an intimate and personal portrait of this remarkable woman. Published by PRI's The World at theworld.org.

Sargent College updated its web site in 2010 and commissioned Paula Lerner to produce a series of ten two-minute multimedia features highlighting undergrad and grad students in the health sciences field, as well as faculty doing world class research. They also commissioned a three-minute "About Us" slide show for use on their web site and at student Open House sessions.

When Boston University updated its Admissions web site in 2008, Paula Lerner was commissioned to produce six two-minute multimedia profiles of students in different disciplines and from a variety of backgrounds. Each student tells the story of his or her own unique experience coming to BU.

THE WOMEN OF KABUL

In 2001 the Taliban fled Kabul, bringing an end to a harsh regime. This feature tells the stories of five women entrepreneurs in Kabul who are rebuilding their lives and their country by building their businesses. These unusual women struggle to take control of their future against a backdrop of a country still recovering from decades of war and facing an ongoing insurgency.
Agfa commissioned the Mullen agency to produce a three-minute video to kick off their "Agfa: A Smarter Way" international ad campaign. Mullen in turn commissioned Paula Lerner to shoot the still images that comprise the entire visual content of the video, in addition to being featured in the print campaign.
